Mythic Thresholds
Entering the Underworld of Your Own Story
Every great story reaches a moment when the world we thought we knew collapses.
The tower falls.
The map disappears.
The path forward vanishes.
Across history, the masculine Hero’s journey is all about going out into the world to conquer. He leaves home, goes on an epic quest to slay a monster, rescues the damsel in distress, then comes home to live happily ever after in his glorious kingdom.
The Heroine’s journey is something else entirely.
She’s not sent out on a quest. She’s thrown into emotional adversity, and forced to adapt.
The life she knew begins to unravel, and instead of conquering something outside herself, she must learn to navigate the shifting terrain within.
In mythology, this is the moment of descent into the underworld—the symbolic realm of shadow, intuition, and transformation. Figures such as Persephone, Inanna, and Hecate all pass through this threshold before emerging changed.
In real life, these same underworld journeys often appear as moments of profound transition: the end of a relationship, the loss of a dream, an identity that no longer fits, or the sudden collapse of certainty about the future.
Mythic Thresholds invites participants to explore these threshold moments not as failures, but as powerful stages of transformation.
Through mythic storytelling, reflective writing, and guided inner exploration, we begin to recognize the hidden patterns shaping our personal narratives. Along the way, the symbolic guides, guardians, and archetypal forces that often appear during periods of adversity begin to reveal themselves.
The workshop includes a guided hypnotic journey into the symbolic underworld, offering a space to access subconscious insight, creative inspiration, and the deeper wisdom that emerges when we allow ourselves to explore our shadows.
Guests will leave with a renewed relationship to their own story and a deeper understanding of how periods of uncertainty can become catalysts for personal power and an altered perception that challenges them to see themselves as the Herione of their own Story.
If your retreat explores themes of storytelling, spirituality, creativity, or personal growth, this workshop offers a powerful and memorable experience.
